The Course is a 9 hole parkland course, on which
accuracy is essential. No, not because of bunkers,
but because of strategically placed Trees. Trees
play a major part on every hole, or for the better
players trees play no part at all! There are alternate
tees on six of the back nine holes, so there is
little chance to get complacent. Par for the 18
holes is 70, course length 5339 metres for men
and 4663 metres for ladies and SS for men is 67
and for ladies 68. The course is situated some
3 miles outside Ballaghaderreen and is well sign-posted
from the town.

The first of nine holes of this course is a long
par four, the second is a very short par three,
moving on to a long par five. The fourth is a
short par four with a water hazard on the left
with bunkers around the big green. The fifth is
the shortest on the course, it's under a hundred
yards with the river suck right in-front of the
tee. The sixth is another short hole with the
green beside the clubhouse and bar. The seventh
is a uphill battle with surrounding bunkers and
trees by the green. The eight is one of the longest
holes and has an unusual green. And finally the
menacing par five ninth, your tee shot has to
be a big one to get in prime position and the
green has a few surrounding sand traps. All in
all, a really good test of golf.
